Rich Folks’ Greed Killed Nine in South Carolina

Consider Dylann a foot soldier in the war against, well, whomever or whatever the ownership elites want. The rich own the government and most of the so-called “media.” They either own it directly, as with King Rupert, or they have no problem influencing it through their sponsored proxies. Whether the issue is race, climate change, drugs, guns, religious extremism, someone will gladly take their money to write, or say, or act on their behalf. And who’s listening? Dylann Roof, among others.

Various pundits have blamed the killings on everything from dirty sneakers to a torn raincoat. I’m not good-looking enough to get on Fox News, so I’ll do my blaming here.

Anyone who wants to be like the rich, or wants their toys, is liable. The rich are powerful because money is powerful, and it’s powerful because people like shiny objects. People who don’t like shiny things, or could care less about them, are the only ones who can truly threaten the rich. They don’t buy their shit and they don’t play their game.

That’s why the rich wage a constant war on the poor, proxied by everyone from the cops and the courts to the prisons and lawmakers. Poor people scare them, and not because they want their stuff. (Granted, some do. But not all.) Poor people scare them because they know how to get along without shiny toys. Look up any recent police shooting and you’ll see a photo of the young victim-to-be, smiling and happy. The rich don’t understand that, and it scares them.

That’s why they killed nine people in South Carolina. And why they’ll kill again.
